Curb Records singer-songwriter Sarah Reeves affirms the best love is worth the wait on bold original “The Right One,” out today (4/11) — listen HERE.
“I wrote this song with Kendall Goodman and Austin Cannon when I was single, living in Nashville. I was navigating life after divorce. I was finding myself as an independent woman, but of course, longed for love with the right partner,” Reeves reveals. “This song is for so many women, but it was also written to myself. I wanted to be chosen, seen, loved and cherished by someone. God brought me just that about eight months after writing this. We all have our own story. Don’t give up and don’t settle. The right one is out there.”
A razor-sharp lyricist, Reeves delivers hard truth on “The Right One.” Advising women to patiently hold out for a high-caliber man, the pop singer draws from her own real-life romance that resulted in a second marriage — and a second chance — for both she and her new husband. The prolific songwriter doesn’t pull any lyrical punches across the moody, straight-shooting track that trades all the love bombing, ghosting and gaslighting for a steady, safe relationship.
The fresh selection follows Reeves’ female empowerment anthem, “More Than Enough,” which swiftly found traction across TikTok ahead of its DSP drop last year. Reeves also recently penned and performed original music for the official soundtrack for feature film God’s Here, which also marked the songstress’ acting debut.
In addition to working on more new music of her own, the versatile artist is featured on The Belonging Co.’s latest live project, Eden, which highlights Reeves’ signature vocal on “On the Way,” on which she also holds co-writing credit.
