October 11th, 2011 - From a tiny town in East Tennessee to the bright lights of Music City, the career of Rodney Atkins speaks of small-town dreams and the sweet success that only comes from years of hard work and single-minded determination. Rodney's idyllic childhood on the baseball fields and playgrounds of Harrogate, Tennessee, influenced every aspect of his music, as did his adoptive parents who raised him from the sickly infant they found at a nearby orphanage. Great American Country's "Origins: Rodney Atkins" takes viewers back to East Tennessee, where Rodney recalls those early days that shaped his life, his values and his music.

Performances within the show include “Take A Back Road”, “Cabin In The Woods”, “These Are My People” and “If You’re Going Through Hell”. The one hour GAC Special, Origins: Rodney Atkins premieres tomorrow night (10/12) at 10pm/9 CST.
